art, also called, non-objective or non-figurative art, is
a term used to catagorize various types of abstract art, which neither depict recognizable objects
nor refer to identifiable subjects. Movements which have practiced
this kind art include Suprematism, Orphism (Synchromism), Constructivism, de
Stijl (Neoplasticism), Concrete Art, Bauhaus and Postpainterly Abstraction (Minimalism, Colorfield
Painting, Hard-Edge Abstraction, Chromatic Abstraction). Such art focuses solely on

"Howard R. Barnhart’s work is a relief, the shapes cut-out and layered. However, it is the chromatic contrast and interaction that interests him most, the weight and measure of one color against the other that determines the shapes and structural integrity of the construction. Barnhart's "Composition" a joyously colored, interlocked puzzle of pastels, recalls a sculpture as much as a painting..." Lilly
